    Our warm-ups

“Warming up is an important component of any exercise or active pursuit.  The difficulty with children comes with holding their attention for long enough to warm up properly.  Specific, isolated warm up exercises are unlikely to be effective for children, as they require concentration and coordination (something that most three-year-olds may struggle with!).  The Kids Run Free warm up area presents the ideal scenario to get the children moving in preparation for their races – the play-based approach, utilising various different motor skills (such as balancing on buckets, swinging a “hula hoop”, juggling cones, playing with a diabolo and other coordination-challenging activites) as well as generally running around and having fun with other children is an ideal way to get the kids warmed up without them even realising!  Not only that, but it helps to improve their coordination in general.  With their parents’ supervision the children can prepare for their races in a safe, effective and fun way that will help to enhance their enjoyment of the day.”
