We are excited to announce that Adam Holland has become an Ambassador for Kids Run Free, joining in our mission to get kids moving. The Devon born ultra-marathon and endurance athlete has won more marathons/ultra-marathons than anyone else in the UK, putting him in the top five in the world for marathon wins. He has run over 346 and counting, of which 121 were under 3 hours. His fastest marathon to date was achieved in Paris in 2017, which he completed in 2 hours 27 minutes.
Adam has also won several Guinness World Records and at just 23 years old he’d completed 100 marathons, making him the youngest person in Europe to achieve this. He’s also the fastest person to run 10 marathons in 10 days, with an average time of 2 hours 45 minutes and is the England Athletic 50 km champion for 2017.
His greatest feeling of achievement however, comes from inspiring others to run. He regularly visits schools to share his experiences and coaches at a local Primary School. This desire to support young runners stems from his memories at school, where he struggled with undiagnosed dyslexia which lead to a lack of confidence. However, after discovering he loved running and had the ability to race, he found an inner self belief that he could achieve anything if he put his mind to it and he hasn’t looked back since!
Adam is a father of two young children and knows how important exercise is for healthy young minds and bodies.
“It’s important to encourage sport from a young age, to build the foundations for a healthy life right from the start. I am excited to be an Ambassador for Kids Run Free and share their passion for empowering children to lead healthier lifestyles and to have fun in the process!”
Martine Verweij, Founder and CEO of Kids Run Free said “We are honoured that Adam has agreed to become our new ambassador. It’s important for us that our ambassadors reflect the values of the charity and I believe that Adam is the perfect person to represent us. He’s inspiring, dynamic, open and confident; an amazing role model for the next generation. To have someone so passionate about what we do, actively promoting our cause and raising money for us is fantastic and we can’t wait for our journey to begin. We also have Sir Mo Farah as our Global Ambassador and are very proud that we have these wonderful role models as champions of our charity ”.
In March 2019, Adam is taking on John O’Groats to Land’s End (and back again!) and hoping to set a new Guinness World Record. Please show your support by donating here https://bit.ly/2IOhB9B Every penny that Adam raises is being donated to Kids Run Free and will help educate children about the transformational power of physical activity.
