Kids Run Free was delighted to be invited to be at the Richmond Run Fest on Saturday 16th September 2017. The event took place at the Kids’ Fun Zone at Old Deer Park, Twickenham Road in Richmond between 11:30am and 1:00pm.
The charity organised a Marathon Kids challenge and invited children from all over London to join them on the day for a running celebration. The event was open to children of all abilities under 16 years old and saw over 60 children taking part by running as many laps of a 200 metres course as they wanted during 1hour and 30 minutes. The nature of the challenge allows children to run at their own pace and according to their abilities. Furthermore, the charity encourages role-modelling so parents were also invited to join in if they chose to support their young ones.
The top girl and boy runners from all age groups were awarded the popular Marathon Kids t-shirts and invited to join Kids Run Free regular running events in Brent, Hillingdon and Richmond to build on their running skills and stamina.
