Super Star Marathon Kids Story!

Louie is an inspiration to everyone! He really motivates all the children to take part in Marathon kids and to run alongside him. He has inspired his little sister in reception to go for it too and she has just reached her half marathon milestone!

After enjoying the programme so much in reception and yr 1 he has now joined Leamington Athletics Academy because he wants to run all the time and be the next Mo!

He has even inspired his mum to start running with RLAG because we all see how much good it does him so we all want that feeling too! Louie helps me to deliver whole school assemblies on Marathon Kids goals and target setting and he will even stop mid lap running to spur others on and have a turn at giving out bands!

We'd Love To Hear Your Inspiring Stories Too

We’d love you to share any inspiring stories about a child or teacher. Or maybe you know a parent or family member that started running because of a child who found a passion for sport because of Marathon Kids. Whatever it is, we’d really like to hear from you!

Your stories give us a unique insight into how our programme is impacting on children’s lives and their general health and wellbeing. It helps us to develop and improve the programme and means we can give evidenced feedback to our sponsors, partners and governing bodies, that our programme really does work. Check out Edward’s story from Shipston-on-Stour Primary School:

“Once I knew I’d run one marathon, I wanted to test myself and run further and run as many marathons as I could,” Edward, Year 6, Shipston on Stour Primary School

Double marathon runner Edward was the first to reach that achievement through the Marathon Kids programme at his school.

Prior to getting involved learning did not come easily to Edward, but having an individual athletic achievement increased his self-belief and pride. His teachers have observed that after becoming the first person to achieve the double marathon goal he set for himself, his self confidence has also increased and he has become a role model to younger children who he now completes laps with.
