It’s almost time for our favourite day of the year when charities across the globe stand together and shine a big bright light on the incredible work we all carry out. We are proud to be one of many charity partner’s for the worldwide #GivingTuesday campaign which is part of UK Charity Week which runs from 2 – 8 December, and if you don’t know what it’s all about, check out the vital stats from 2018 here.
Giving Tuesday takes place on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday and is a day to give back and do something good in the
run up to Christmas. This year it falls on 3 December 2019.
Since its launch in the US in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown to be a truly global phenomenon. There are now official campaigns in over
60 countries worldwide. There are many ways to get involved – you can donate to charity, volunteer, campaign or share your skills and knowledge.
This year as well as getting inspiration from #GivingTuesday, why not make a commitment with a #GivingTuesdayPledge?
Last year 1 in 10 people in the UK did something on the day and #GivingTuesday was the UK’s number one Twitter trend.
The campaign holds the world record for the most money raised online for charity in 24 hours, and last year raised $98 million globally via PayPal
and more than £7.8 million online in the UK.
