Who we are

Kids Run Free is a registered charity (charity number 1146636) established by Catherine O'Carroll and Martine Verweij in 2010 and based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

Our mission is to get young people passionate about exercise. As a result of our involvement with athletics, we decided to create an exercise programme for children by setting up races that are available to all school and pre-school age groups.

We currently hold events in locations within the Midlands.

Shottery Fields, Stratford-upon-Avon

War Memorial Park, Coventry

Bentley Heath Recreation Ground, Solihull

Kings Heath Park, Birmingham

Braunstone Park, Leicester

Jubilee Recreation Ground, Nuneaton

We are always looking for opportunities to set up new Kids Run Free venues. If you're interested in helping out, please get in touch.

Our message to families is ‘Start young and Stay fit’. We believe that children should be given the opportunity to exercise as early as possible. More children are overweight now than ever before, and a healthy exercise and diet regime can help them avoid this, as well as providing a stepping stone should they choose to move on to other sports.
